Deepening Your Practice and Creating Community

Open to All        On Zoom and In-Person or Weekly Video Recording Access

7 consecutive Tuesdays: April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19. 6pm-7:15pm.

$95 inclusive.

Rebecca will be offering in-depth teachings from a selected text by a leading teacher and facilitate discussion on how meditation informs, enlivens and brings deeper meaning to life.  For those unable to attend on a Tuesday night, you can register and have direct access to the session recordings.

·      Strengthening the aiming and sustaining of attention.

·      Specific teachings on developing relaxed, open awareness and states of acceptance.

·      Short weekly reading assignments to facilitate deeper learning and reflection.

·      25-minute guided meditations and emailed recordings for practice at home.

Women’s Support Group: A Place for Women Over 40

Five Consecutive Wednesdays: May 13, 19, 27, June 3 &10 6pm – 7:15pm.

Navigating life as a women over 40 comes with a unique set of challenges:

·       Our changing bodies during perimenopause and menopause.

·       Our children aging and a change in identity as “mother” and “grandmother.”

·       Reforming, changing or ending our primary social and/or marital relationships.

·       Our role in the care of aging family members.

·       A deeper yearning for spiritual meaning and purpose in life.

Rebecca will lead this 5-week group in meditation, discussion and skill building for this time of life that can feel ungrounded and filled with questioning.  Join this supportive gathering of women in sharing your unique experience while learning from others going through their own. Begin to create deeper meaning, cultivate wisdom and mindful awareness that can help you develop a more peaceful and enriched life.

·      Learn the Five Core Mindfulness Skills you can teach to clients.

·      Use mindfulness to treat a wide range of clinical issues.

·      Learn a practice that will improve your therapeutic presence and ease in every session.

·      Integrate mindfulness practice more fully into your personal and professional lives.

 

The research is clear that practicing mindfulness skills is the fast track to changing the brain; but it is challenging to teach mindfulness to clients and motivate them to practice outside the session. We will delve deeply into the many beneficial effects of mindfulness in the counseling process. Help clients identify specific skills and practices and learn an accessible and straightforward approach to teaching mindfulness to clients. You will learn specific practices for experiencing every session as a meditation, resulting in a presence that leaves both you and the client more relaxed. This will be a special retreat day for you!
